Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) is a Spanish artist who played a pivotal role in shaping 20th century art. In addition to being a master painter, he was also skilled in sculpting, printmaking, ceramics, and much more. Born in Malaga, Spain he showed potential as an artist from a young age and received his education at the School of fine Arts in Barcelona in his early years before attending Madrid's Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.

Alongside Georges Braque, Picasso co-founded the Cubist movement and pioneered several key art periods, such as the Blue Period, Rose Period and Synthetic Cubism. His career spanned over seven decades, leaving a significant impact on the modern art world.
