Toshiko Takaezu (1922–2013) was a Japanese American ceramic artist renowned for her innovative pottery and contributions to the field of ceramics. Born in Hawaii to Japanese immigrant parents, Takaezu began her artistic journey in the 1940s after studying at the University of Hawaii. She later studied in Japan, where she deepened her understanding of traditional Japanese pottery techniques.
