The image is created entirely out of the graceful line describing the garments of the scholar and the rocks. The style is very contemporary, but it all grows out of the traditional painting forms in Chinese art. There is a line of calligraphy in the upper left hand with a seal of the artist. The calligraphy is an old poem. The addition of a poem or phrase is a traditional form in painting and used as a compositional balance. The painting is in excellent condition with new Chinese silk mounting.<\/p>\n
